Cattleya Yvette La Baume Le Blanc de La Fontaine (カトレア Katorea, Pronunciation: /katleə ɪvɛt la bom lə blan də la fɔnten/ or /katlɛjɑ ɪvɛt la bom lə blɑ̃ də la fɔ̃ten/)
Cattleya is Louise’s middle sister. She believes Louise has potential, and that she is a wonderful girl. More than anything, she longs for Louise’s happiness, and is fine with the fact that Louise has feelings for a peasant. She is a kindhearted person, and even helped Louise escape from her house to go back to the Academy. She knows Louise well, and could easily tell that Louise was in love with Saito, even when Louise herself denied it. Although Cattleya is eight years older than Louise, she isn't married due to the fact she is ill. Her mother and father are the Duke de La Vallière and Karin, Duchess de La Vallière.
Despite the fact that her body is weak, Cattleya came with Éléonore to the Tristain Academy of Magic to assist her in teaching the students. She had told Éléonore, "No matter what, I want to be with Louise." It seems that she has several pets, which she brought with her to the Academy.
Cattleya was suspected for attempting to steal the Rubies of Wind and Water, and later became a prime suspect. She was attacked by the thief, the rings were slipped under Cattleya's mattress to frame her. After they had identified the real thief as Michelle, Michelle attempted to escape through a hole in the wall. She was stopped outside by Cattleya, who summoned a golem. This proved that her magical affinity was earth. She also used her earth power for Louise and Saito escape from the Vallière family in Futatsuki no Kishi episode 4 "The Three Vallière Sisters" by using a golem to pull up the drawbridge.
In volume 11 chapter 4, She called upon the water spirits to heal Saito's wounds caused by her mother and then her father. This means that she also has magical affinity with water.
Like her sister Éléonore, Cattleya volunteered to become a hostage in order to set all the other hostages free when the Academy had been attacked by Menvil, who took the students as hostages.
Cattleya's full name is Cattleya Yvette La Baume Le Blanc de La Fontaine. Although she is the second daughter of the Duke de La Vallière, her father gave her a portion of her inheritance and a new title out of compassion for her lifelong sickness. Thus, she is the head (and only member) of the House de La Fontaine.
